Biography

Composer and Arranger from Switzerland. Roger Muller studied at the Bern Academy of Arts: teaching diploma alto horn with Thomas Ruedi , wind music conducting and arranging with Hans Peter Blaser. After his studies Roger Muller changed to french horn. He played in various top brass bands and wind orchestras in Switzerland, as well as in chamber ensembles. He is currently active as a horn player, music teacher, conductor, arranger and composer. Roger conducts various brass bands and wind orchestras in Switzerland and arranges and composes for a wide variety of instrumentations. In 2015, he orchestrated the opera "Der Klarinettenmacher" for the Burgdorf Theatre. In 2017 he wrote the arrangement for the musical "In 80 Tagen um die Welt" by Martin G. Berger at the Lucerne Theatre. For the 150th anniversary 2018 of the Stadtmusik Buren he wrote the rock opera "Die verwandelte Katze" from the original of the operetta by Jacques Offenbach. Jens Ravari was the director. In 2020, Roger Muller was awarded 3rd prize in the composition competitions of the Swiss Wind Music Association for his two works "La Reunion" and "Polyphemos". With the composition "From The Source To The Sea" he won 2nd prize at the KMVW competition in 2023 and 3rd prize at the Swiss Brass Band Association's composition competition with the piece "Skylla & Charybdis". With "Phaya Naga" he also won 2nd prize at the 'La Prime Lus' competition in Italy in 2023 in the 1st class wind band category.
